Learning Assessments

Cognitive Assessment is an individually administered intelligence test that can be completed without reading or writing.

The test can take up to 1 hour to administer and generates a Full Scale IQ (formerly known as an intelligence quotient or IQ score) which represents an individuals’ general intellectual ability. It also provides five primary index scores (i.e., Verbal Comprehension Index, Visual Spatial Index, Fluid Reasoning Index, Working Memory Index, and Processing Speed Index) that represent a an individual’s abilities in more discrete cognitive domains. 

An Achievement Assessment is an individually administered achievement test that measures various aspects of learning, such as reading, writing and maths. The results can be interpreted to identify the academic strengths and weaknesses and inform appropriate interventions and supports to assist individuals overcome their challenges and maximise learning potential.

 A Cognitive Assessment typically includes:

1.     An initial intake questionnaire to gather relevant background information, such as developmental milestones, educational history, and any specific concerns2.     

The assessment process (package):·       

1 x 60 minute session to administer the standardised cognitive (intelligence) test. A detailed assessment report of findings with tailored recommendations and any relevant diagnoses.  

1 x 30 minute feedback session to discuss the assessment and answer any questions you may have.

An Achievement Assessment typically includes:

  1. An initial intake questionnaire to gather relevant background information, such as developmental milestones, educational history, and any specific concerns
  2. The assessment process (package):

 1 x 45 minute session to administer the standardised achievement (academic) test. A detailed assessment report of findings with tailored recommendations and any relevant diagnoses.

1 x 30 minute feedback session to discuss the assessment and answer any questions you may have.

A Full Educational Assessment typically includes:

  1. An initial intake questionnaire to gather relevant background information, such as developmental milestones, educational history, and any specific concerns

2.     The assessment process (package):

1 x 90 minute session to administer the standardised cognitive(intelligence) and achievement (academic) test

A detailed assessment report of findings from both tests with tailored recommendations and any relevant diagnoses

1 x 30 minute feedback session to discuss the assessment and answer any questions you may have.
