New Client Bookings

We realise that making the decision to seek support can be confronting. We aim to help you through this process with clear communication and support.

To see a psychiatrist you will need first to see your GP and get them to send through a referral. If our psychiatrist believes they will be able to support you, we can then make an appointment. The referral will mean you are eligible for a medicare rebate (there is a gap fee).

Similarly if you wish to see a psychologist and get the medicare rebate, you will need to see your GP for a mental health care plan. This will mean you can get 6 sessions that are medicare rebatable (there is a gap fee). A further 4 sessions then become available after you have completed the initial 6 sessions, if needed (a total of 10 rebatable sessions per calendar year).

When you call to make an appointment we will ask you a few questions to find a practitioner best suited to your needs. You will then be asked to fill out a registration form and this completes the booking process.

The online form will ask you important questions that will help the psychologist or psychiatrist get to know you, and it will also ask you for medicare card details, payment and rebate details so that we can make smooth and secure payment and, if you are eligible for one, get your rebate to you as quickly as possible.

We choose to use Halaxy when it comes to cyber security, and this ensures that bookings, health and payment data is kept in bank grade security and encryption.

Please note that BOP is not a bulk billing clinic and all payments are due on the day of your appointment. If you opt to use private health insurance please check with your health insurer to confirm your rebate. If you are claiming Workcover , please be aware that you will pay full fee privately and submit your invoices to your agency for reimbursement. There is an out of pocket fee. We no longer accept TAC.
